Focus and Scope
The journal is an excellent resource for current and latest developments in the field of Public Health Informatics (PHI).
While public health is an information-intensive discipline it lags behind such fields as banking, manufacturing, transportation, and medicine, in the use of information and communication technologies in the delivery of services and resource management.
There is currently no journal dedicated to the dissemination of information about best PHI practices among public health practitioners, researchers, and educators. The journal will attempt to satisfy the growing need of a PHI knowledge translation portal and knowledge resource in both developed and developing countries.
In addition to peer-reviewed articles, book reviews, and technology reviews, the journal will also publish selected students' capstone projects, working papers by researchers, interviews and commentaries.

Peer Review Process
Unbiased, independent, critical assessment is an intrinsic part of all scholarly work, including scientific investigation. Peer reviewers are experts in their field who are not part of the editorial staff and thus are an important extension of the scientific process.
Manuscripts will be reviewed by at least 2 reviewers. Peer reviewers are asked to submit their review within four (4) weeks. Fast-tracking will be considered for some papers at the authors request.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Archiving
This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
Publication Frequency
OJPHI releases accepted papers online immediately after completion of peer-review and editorial processes. The journal will be published three times a year in April, August, and December.
