Jela Steinerovis professor in Library and Information Science at the Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Philosophy, Comenius University Bratislava, Slovakia. She specialises in human information behaviour, cognitive and social issues of information use, and information ecology. Her teaching activities include subjects of Theory of Information Science, Information Behaviour, Information Products, Semiotics, etc. She is the author of three monographs, published in foreign journals and lectured at many national and international conferences. She has managed several research projects and international conferences, won several international grants and study stays. Lately she has been the head of a research project on information ecology of the academic information environment (VEGA 1/2481/10) .
