Dr. Dimka (Ivanova) Gicheva-Gocheva

Dr. Dimka (Ivanova) Gicheva-Gocheva, Associate Professor in History of Philosophy, Sofia University,
received a Master in philosophy and English language from Sofia University in 1987, where she carried out doctoral study and part-time work as assistant- professor from 1988 onward. She has been employed full-time since 1990 in the History of Philosophy Department, Faculty of Philosophy, Sofia University. She received her Doctor of philosophy in 1997, and has been an associate professor since 2004 in ancient and medieval philosophy. She is the author of two books on Plato and Aristotle and two on the history of university education. She is the editor and commentator of the first Bulgarian translation of Metaphysics by Aristotle. She also made the first Bulgarian translation of the Aristotelian treatise On the Heavens. He main research interests are ancient philosophy and philosophy of education.
